What Thai massage is

Often called Thai yoga massage, the practice blends acupressure, passive stretching, and mindful movement. Instead of a conventional table session, the body is guided through yoga-like movements while tension patterns release from muscles, joints, and connective tissue.

The result is increased flexibility, reduced stiffness, and a feeling of physical clarity rather than sedation. It is the most active hour on our menu, and for many bodies the most transformative.

What to expect

Sessions happen fully clothed on a padded mat, with your therapist using hands, forearms, and body weight to compress, rock, and stretch. Come in comfortable, stretchy clothing and skip the heavy meal beforehand.

Prefer the table? Table Thai adapts the same techniques to a conventional setup. Every session carries our right-match guarantee: tell us what your body needs and we pair you with the right practitioner.

What a Thai session gives you

Benefits
MobilityAssisted stretch

Your body is guided through supported stretches beyond what solo stretching reaches: hips, hamstrings, spine, shoulders.

EnergyCompression lines

Rhythmic pressure along the body’s lines leaves you clear and awake, not sedated; guests walk out taller.

Whole BodyHead to foot

Thai treats the body as one connected system in one continuous, moving hour.

Thai massage, the Cleveland original

Urban Haven’s whole practice is built around a Thai-inspired philosophy: assisted stretching as the doorway, movement as medicine. Our Thai massage is the fullest expression of it, and one of the few authentic mat practices in Cleveland.

Guests drive in from across Northeast Ohio for it; runners and yogis from Tremont and Lakewood, and the desk-bound from Downtown who feel themselves fusing to their chairs.

Before your first Thai hour

Wear stretchy, comfortable clothes; the session is on a padded mat, fully clothed, no oil. Eat light beforehand. Expect movement: your therapist lifts, rocks, and folds you through positions while compressing along the muscle lines.

60 minutes from $140. Prefer to stay on the table? Table Thai adapts the same work. Members save 20%.

Questions, answered

FAQ
Do I need to be flexible for Thai massage?

No. The therapist meets your range and works within it; flexibility is the outcome, not the entry fee.

Why does Thai cost more than table massage?

It is the most physically demanding hour on our menu and requires specialized training few Cleveland therapists have.

Thai or table Thai?

Mat Thai is the full traditional practice; table Thai keeps the stretching and compression on a conventional table. Mobility seekers love both.
